THE BEST OF HIGH POINT MARKET

DESIGNER LISA SHERRY SHOPPED THE FAMOUS HIGH POINT MARKET. TAP INTO HER TOP FINDS IN TODAY'S BLOG.

OCTOBER 30, 2024 | CHARLOTTE, NC

It’s a wrap. The fall High Point Market came to a close yesterday. All in, the Lisa Sherry Interiuers team logged over 100,000 steps in High Point’s storied streets and showroom.

As an interior designer, I actually shop for a living. My clients are very discerning. On their behalf, I set out to find what’s new, what’s different, what’s fresh and what has staying power. High Point Market, a twice-annual, trade-only event, is a furniture and design feast of sorts – there’s so much to experience.

Today, as a preview of what you’re likely to see in upcoming Lisa Sherry Interieurs projects, I’m excited to share what I have deemed the best of the best of Market. Come along on my Market tour….

#1 VERELLEN LINEN STRIPE SOFA & DAWN SWEITZER ART

I may be changing my stripes! My design love affair with texture is well-known, yet at this Market, pattern resonated with me, especially this confident stripe from Verellen in charcoal and wheat. Original wall art from Dawn Sweitzer completes the tableau!

#2 DARK & DUSKY TEXTURAL PILLOWS

Pillows are a perfect and essential finishing touch. I often create unique pillow designs with my workroom, but I’ve found a kindred spirit at Uniquity. I’m captivated by the hues – this ochre gem came home with me!

#3 TEXTURED WALL ART BY SABINE MAES

I am mesmerized by the sculptural quality of this hair-on-hide wall art. Artist Sabine Maes' technique is absolutely invisible. The work feels organic and meant-to-be – for stylish rooms AND my Market-finds list!

#5 PEBBLE STUMP TABLE BY YANOU

Side tables were in abundance at the Market, yet I saw nothing that rivaled this occasional table from Yanou. I don’t like to typecast furniture. As you can see, this concrete-clay table is also a great extra seating option.

#6 GLOBE PENDANTS BY VISUAL COMFORT

I love these mod and marvy large-scale globe pendants, especially the smoky loden-green version – just a little kiss of color. These pendants – either clustered or going solo – will be coming soon to a Lisa Sherry Interieurs space!

#X PEACOCK GLASS VOTIVE

My approach to styling a table, bookshelf or console is very intuitive. A bit of pattern added here and there adds interest. I was charmed by these dark green-and-white etched peacock-pattern votives. Maybe it’s the pop of ochre!

#7 DARK-HUED ABSTRACT PILLOWS

I’m drawn to abstract patterns that evoke the natural world. These pillows stole my heart at Market. Look closely and you’ll see they are vintage botanical abstractions reproduced on linen.

#8 BELGIAN TABLE LINENS

I like symmetry, but not uniformity. At the Market, I happened across these beautiful table linens – Belgian in origin, of course. I’m drawn to the irregular, thick-and-thin medley of stripes and the quiet color palette.

As I reflect on this past High Point Market – the experience, the vibe, the warm company of so many designer friends and vendors – I do sense a common thread to the overall experience. Interestingly, this thread also informs my best-of-Market finds. That unifying theme is authenticity. In all things, I am drawn to the real and the enduring. Thank you for venturing forward with me!
